December Forum Sessions on Mobilizing Policy Leadership to Make College Civic Learning a Shared Priority

College Promise is proud to be a founding and lead partner in the Civic Learning and Democracy Engagement Coalition.  Our shared goal is to make it a policy and educator priority to include all postsecondary students in active civic learning for an engaged democracy.  To learn more, visit www.collegeciviclearning.org.

This year, the Coalition is holding a series of five Planning and Action Forums where policy leaders and educators can work together on civic learning for an engaged democracy.  The forums include educator-policy dialogues on the role of state systems, community college systems, and accreditors in making college civic learning a policy priority.  They also feature new evidence showing both the completion benefits of active civic learning and the deep disparities in who participates.

The Forum series — called College Civic Learning for an Engaged Democracy — begins with two virtual forums: December 13 and 14, 2022, from 2:30–5:30 each day, and February 6 and 7, 2023, from 2:30–5:30 each day.

Registration for the forums opens on November 7.  You can access the agenda here.

We hope all our College Promise partners will mark the dates and plan for a team to attend.  Thanks to grant support, there is no charge for participating teams.

See the attached overview of civic learning for an engaged democracy and forums announcement for details. And please mark your calendar for the first two forums!
