College Plan Disruptions

College admissions experts offer advice to students on handling today’s college disruptions.

This blog post is part of a series of recordings of our College Transition webinars for Future College Students, which aim to provide resources and strategies to students as they navigate the various transitions of their education career.

This week, a panel of experts in higher education admissions speak on College Plan Disruptions.

In a College Promise virtual discussion, panelists Rosye Cloud, senior College Promise leader; Matthew Rotstein, Director of Admissions of Columbia University; Angie Jiang, Matriculate Advising Fellow; and Jhenielle Reynolds, Program Manager for CollegePoint Initiative, talk to Future College Students about College Plan Disruptions. Together, they offer insights into how students can manage, update, and tackle their college plans. Amid today's enormous disruptions, students are encouraged to consider their goals and reach out to advisors, experts, peers, and mentors to build an education plan. The panelists agree that students should feel empowered to take an active role in their college process—ask questions, seek advice, and make informed decisions.

“There is no one right answer. The choice of the next step on your education path is a very intentional personal decision. But there are people who can help.”

— Rosye Cloud, College Promise
